From the Desk of the Pastor

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

Reverend Charles Boyd, Sr. Pastor

My dearest First Missionary Baptist Church, It is with deep love and great humility that I reflect on the past eighteen eventful years as the pastor of this courageous, compassionate, and Christ-centered congregation. When I think about how for 18 years God has blessed me…18 years how God has kept me…18 years how God has made a way…

Don’t! Get! Me! Started!

So much has happened in 18 years. In this church, community, and nation. We have celebrated new lives born into this world and new souls dedicated to Christ. We have mourned the loss of faithful stewards who have gone on to be with our Lord. Through it all, you have allowed me the room to grow in my ministry. For 18 years, we have laughed together, we have cited together, and most importantly, we have grown together.

We understand that the church is not the physical building, but the people. You, the members of FMBC, have stood firm. You have not let anything move or deter you from seeking God’s blessings and miracles. Instead, you have held strongly to doing God’s work and nurturing the church body.

With this letter, I commend and celebrate you all. Without sheep, a shepherd is just a man. Without working and willing parts, the body cannot function. I thank you FMBC family. I will continue to pray for you and with you as we move forward in this life. As long as the Lord sees fit and there is room for us to grow together. I look forward to being your pastor for years to come.

With much love,
Pastor Charles S. Boyd, Sr
